Are Genetically Modified Foods Really Bad for You?

The government has been telling us since the early 90's that genetically modified foods are the same as the foods that humans have been eating for eons. Is this fiction or actual science?

There are scientists that are concerned. Is this concern warranted? Could these genetic modifications of our basic food supply cause introduction of toxins, like pesticides or heavy metals, into our food supply which would be harmful to us or our animals?

New study shows . . .

New study shows that men and women over age 51 who take nutritional supplements are more likely to get adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals that those who do not.

This study in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association found that most people in this age group do not get enough vitamins and minerals from their diets and that supplements are necessary. In a study of 4384 adults, less than half were taking supplements daily. Those who did met recommended levels for vitamins A, B, and C, as well as iron and zinc.

Do you know what your vitamin D level is?

Do you know what your vitamin D level is? If it meant that your could cut your risk of colon cancer and breast cancer by as much as 50% would you spend $50 to find out?

In a study published in August's supplement of the journal, Nutritional Reviews, researchers at UCSD confirmed their projections that to get a 50% decrease in colon cancer the public would have to be taking 2000 IU per day of Vitamin D3. To do the same with breast cancer, the dose would have to be 3500 IU per day.
