More Bad News for Ritalin
Ritalin is an amphetamine drug that is addicting and produces a cocaine like response in brain cells. There is no scientific rationale for its use in children and the claims that its purpose is the treatment of a "chemical imbalance" in the brain have never been substantiated. New research published in the August 2007 issue of Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry shows that Ritalin stunts the growth of children. After three years on the psychotropic drug, children were one inch shorter and 4.4 pounds lighter than their peers, researchers have documented.

Do Americans Really Need Nutritional Supplements?
As you are probably aware, lead is one of the most potent toxins, even at very low dosages, that are known to man. There is no safe level. Our environment has been thoroughly contaminated with lead and sometimes in some of the most unsuspecting places, like children's toys. This is so much the fact that I think it is very important for everyone, including children, to have a blood test for lead done annually to see if you have a source of lead contamination that you are not aware of. Lead causes all manner of pathology in the body including lowered IQ, hyperactivity, learning disorders, high blood pressure, anemia, kidney failure, heart failure, chronic fatigue, sleep disorders and possibly even cancer.
Which nutrients are they talking about? Vitamin C, folic acid, magnesium, acetyl-l-carnitine, zinc, copper, B12, essential fatty acids, vitamin D, selenium and possibly others. Our own experience would add to that essential amino acids needed for building body protein.

Child's Health Naturally
Many children are prescribed drugs such as Ritalin, Paxil, Resperdal, etc., for their symptoms which may mask the symptoms and not remedy the underlying causes.
George Springer, D.C., working with his medical colleagues at
LifeWorks Wellness Center , is helping parents identify the underlying cause of their child's health issues.
Dr. Springer utilizes diagnostic tools to identify the cause of each child's symptoms and offers parents non-drug solutions to consider in consultation with their prescribing physician, to help restore the child's health. Click here to see the video . . . ...»

Are you taking LA? Here's why you should!
LA is lipoic acid. Recent research on lipoic acid was discussed at the "Diet and Optimum Health" conference sponsored by the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University. Evidence presented showed that this compound appears to slow down the aging process, improve circulation, and enhance immune function. By some mechanism not completely understood it appears to turn on the basic cellular defenses of the body including some that decline with advancing age. This includes restoring levels of glutathione, a very important cellular antioxidant and detoxifier. LA also acts as an anti- inflammatory agent and so can prevent many degenerative diseases. LA is normally found in small quantities in green leafy vegetables, but in a daily dose of BodyHealth Complete there is 50 mg of the most active form of this nutrient

Can drinking water cause weight loss?
From the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (Vol. 88, No. 12 6015-6019) subjects drank lots of water and lost weight. Here's how it worked: 14 healthy subjects (7 men and 7 women) drank 500 ml (about 16 oz) of water four times a day and by measuring calories burned from the extra water that the metabolic rate was increased by 30% for about an hour after doing this. This amounted to an increase of 400 calories per day burned just by drinking the water. They concluded that drinking water produced a thermogenic effect and could help people trying to lose weight.
