Some tips to Stay Healthier This Winter

Our body's immune system constantly fights off invasioins from harmful bacteria and viruses that try to enter our body. Much of the time we are unaware of these internal battles because sickness only occurs when the bacteria or virus overpowers our immune system. Remaining healthy involves strengthening the immune system so that when harmful invaders do enter the body, one's natural defenses can adequately handle the virus.
Step #1: Wash Your Hands Often and Keep Them Away From Your Face
You may think that using your fingernail to remove a piece of food lodged between your teeth would be an innocuous thing, and never think to wash your hands before doing so. Do you have any doubts that mercury is bad for you?

Are the symptoms of menopause related to protein deficiency?
You may be used to hearing about athletes and weightlifters using protein to enhance their performance. Now here's another application of protein: reducing menopause symptoms.

Common heartburn drugs linked to hip fractures
A recent large study of nearly 150,000 people published in the Journal of the American Medical Association showed that people over 50 years old who took drugs like Nexium, prevacid, and pepcid for a year or more had a 44% increased chance of hip fracture. These drugs block stomach acid which is needed to absorb calcium and protein and that leads to brittle bones and increased fracture rate.
