Do You Weigh More Than You'd Like?
Most people do. In the US 127 million people are overweight. 60 million are obese. 9 million are severely obese. It's actually a worldwide problem.
The next time you go out, doesn't matter where, an airport, the grocery store, or the movies and look around. Take a tally of the first 25 people you see and categorize them: Normal , overweight, obese, severely obese. Most of what you see will not be normal. This was not true 30 years ago.
There are lots of reasons given: genes, stress, fast food, no exercise, TV, environmental toxins, trans fats, too much sugar, artificial sweeteners, etc.
All are true and do contribute.
But the bottom line is taking in more calories than you burn each day. On average people take in 300 more calories per day now than they did 15 years ago.
Doesn't seem like so much does it? 300 calories extra a day?
Here's what 300 calories looks like:
- ½ cup of Dove Ice Cream
- ½ slice of Cheesecake Factories Low Carb Cheesecake
- 1 Mrs. Fields Milk Chocolate and Walnut cookie
- Starbucks 16 ounce Café Moca with whipped cream
Get the idea? Easy to do.
What does an extra (mere) 300 calories a day bring you? One extra pound added to your hips every 11 days. By the end of a year of this you'll have added 31 pounds!
What if you ate 300 calories less than you burned each day? Burn 2000 calories and eat 1700. You'd lose a pound every 11 days and 31 pounds in a year!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can burn 300 calories by walking or running only 3 miles. Or you can save 300 calories by exchanging your deserts of cookies or ice cream or pie for fruit. Not so horrible.
Look at what occurs if you exchange fruit for ice cream and cookies:
Each of the servings of fruit below is about 300 calories:
- 6 1/2 apples
- 10 apricots
- 2 avocados
- 130 cherries
- 300 blackberries
- 30 figs
So have an apple = 44 calories.
But a meal containing a big mac, coke and large fries adds 1340 calories.... easy to see on one of these days you may have added an extra 500 calories (not 300) when you throw in breakfast, dinner and a bed time snack!
Besides eating a little less and burning a little more - only 300 calories a day deficit, are there any supplements that can be helpful in this battle?

"I've been using the Healthy-Thin in conjunction with BioBuilde for 3 weeks. I have already dropped 8 pounds and 2 waist sizes. The best part of it is, my energy level has not dropped one bit. In fact, my energy level has increased dramatically. I maintain an extremely busy schedule and am able to keep up with it without a loss in energy. I have another 18 lbs and 4 waist sizes to go, and am very confident that I will make that target."
