Before You Drink Diet Soda, Read the Label
Before you reach for that diet soda with the sugar substitute, read the label to see if it contains aspartame — because if it does, you certainly don't want to be drinking it.
Aspartame is a sugar substitute discovered in 1965. According to News with Vision, aspartame failed to secure FDA approval for 16 years. Then in 1981, Donald Rumsfield, a former CEO of Searle laboratories, a conglomerate that manufactured Aspartame, appointed a new FDA commissioner who approved it.
Aspartame has a host of adverse side effects, and is the last additive you want in your body. According to NWV, aspartame:
• Causes brain tumors and brain cancer
• Causes headaches, seizures, vision loss, and cancer
• Worsens fibromyalgia, MS, diabetes, and other diseases
• Liberates free methyl alcohol
• Is addictive and makes you crave carbohydrates more
• Interacts with other drugs
• Has a synergistic effect with MSG Apparently one-third of the aspartame molecule is wood alcohol, a severe poison. One doctor reports that aspartame has 92 different symptoms reported by users. The FDA received 10,000 complaints by these victims — more than any other additive ever.
