Why your health could suffer if you take the purple pill or antacids on a chronic basis?
When someone takes a medication that blocks the stomach from making acid, the body cannot digest protein. This is because the enzymes which do the digesting require an acid environment to be active. This acid measurement is called pH. The pH range from 1-6 isacid, 7 is neutral, and above seven to 14 is alkaline. The enzyme that begins protein digestion is called pepsin. Pepsin works best at an acid pH of 2. Prescription medication given for "acid stomach" or "heartburn" raises the pH in the stomach by stopping acid from being made. Without acid, the pH goes to neutral or alkaline. When the pH is above 4 pepsin does not work.
So even if you eat protein, if won't be digested and you won't get the benefit of it.
Since our bodies are made of protein, if we can't make enough protein to keep up with our needs, we can get a host of problems: fatigue, poor sleep, osteoporosis, lose of muscle, wrinkles, and illness, including cancer.
Most people who take medication for heartburn don't have too much acid, they have too little. A very few have an infection called H Pylori that is the cause of the discomfort. It can be diagnosed with a simple blood test. Both situations have easy remedies that don’t require you toblock your digestion of protein by taking medication that blocks your stomach acid from being made.
BioBuilde is an amino acid supplement that doesn’t need stomach acid to work. It’s already pre-digested. It is the best source of protein known in nature. It is five times better than whey or soy protein, and three times better than meat or fish for building protein. We have found that even people who can digest protein feel better, have more energy, can build more muscle, and have improved immune systems when they take BioBuilde. Most people need 3-5 tablets a day. Nearly everyone we have tested shows that they could use more protein. If you could add only one supplement to your diet, this would be the one I would recommend.
