More About Magnesium Deficiency and Premature Aging
Did you know that lack of Magnesium accelerates aging in human cells? Magnesium is essential for over 300 body chemical reactions including muscle and nerve function, heart rhythm, high blood pressure, intestinal function, and thyroid and bone health.
Yet, at least half the population is lacking magnesium. This leads to heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and cancer.
In a study done at Children's Hospital in Oakland , they looked at the effect of moderate magnesium deficiency on a strain of human fibroblasts. These are the cells that provide the structural framework for much of the body.
In the study, that was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the fibroblasts with magnesium deficiency aged faster that normal.
"Magnesium deficiency affects the way the cells age. Accelerated cellular aging affects the way tissue functions," said David Killilea, an associate staff scientist in the Nutrition and Metabolism Center at Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute.
"We are now thinking that cellular consequences of magnesium deficiency may be driving long-term chronic disease."
Magnesium is present in green vegetables, nuts and seeds. But we suggest that daily supplementation is important for all people.
BodyHealth Complete + Detox has magnesium from plentiful green plant concentrates as well as added magnesium to boost the potency.
Along with that you get all of the other minerals needed every day, and your daily requirements of vitamins, and antioxidants.
