When organic doesn't matter…
According to the Environmental Working Group, a non profit organization that works to protect environmental and individual health, the following foods have low pesticide levels. This data is found in the Shoppers Guide to Pesticides in Produce . This information is based on the 43,000 pesticide tests.
Organic produce is grown without the use of pesticides, and currently this usually more expensive. The following 12 foods have the lowest pesticide load when compared to conventionally grown foods and you can probably eat the non organic versions without much worry.
- Broccoli
- Eggplant
- Cabbage
- Banana
- Kiwi
- Asparagus
- Sweet peas (frozen)
- Mango
- Pineapple
- Sweet corn (frozen)
- Avocado
- Onion
