The Latest Treatments
Do the latest treatments promoted in big name medical journals usually work out to be as good as they were promoted to be?
NOT.
A new study published in the Journal of the American Medical Assoc, reviews 45 major studies published in three mainstream influential medical journals between 1990-2003 that showed that a drug or treatment worked. At least 33% of the time the drug did not work. In fact, it caused harm.
What to do?
Be very wary of new drugs and drug treatments. Many physicians are taken in by the hype and promotion of such products and the studies which “prove” how good and how safe they are. Later, when the retractions come, millions of people may have been harmed by them. A glaring example is the drug Premarin. For many years it was the largest selling drug worldwide. It was sold to women for menopause as an estrogen replacement to “protect them from osteoporosis and heart disease.” It did neither. What did it do? Increase the rate of breast and uterine cancer.
My rule is: Almost ALWAYS, for any medical problem, there is a safer way with natural means. Using good nutrition, exercise, lifestyle change, sunshine, environmental cleanup, and the correct dietary supplements. It’s always safer, less expensive, and more likely to really handle the problem to restore your optimum health. And, not give you a worse problem than you started out with.
