One of my favorite authors is Sherry Rogers, M.D.. I highly
recommend her new book, "Detoxify or Die." It's an eye opener
on how to be healthy in today's environment. You can order
it at BodyHealth.com.
We are at risk from our environment.
Our children are very susceptible to environmental toxins.
In fact many of them have acquired continual toxic exposures
in utero from their mother's. This is because for many toxins,
the placenta will pull them out of the mother's body and concentrate
them in the fetus. By the time the child is born, they may
already have a significant load. Undoubtedly, these toxins
have much to do with the exponential rise in ADD/ADHD, childhood
obesity, diabetes , depression, suicide, autism and childhood
cancer . The toxins in pesticides, dioxins, PCBs, arsenic,
mercury, etc harm all cells in the developing brain and other
organs . This contributes to learning and behavior difficulties,
blood sugar problems, appetite disturbances and others.
While pregnant be careful what you eat and what you allow
around you. Once you have delivered your baby, your child
's diet and environment are extremely important to o for
their continued health . Don't fall into the trap of fast
food, donuts, soda pop, sugared cereal and white bread. Don't
let anyone use pesticides in your work place or home.
I challenge you and your children to go off of all sugar
(including honey and all artificial sweeteners) and white
flour products for one week. After the first few days of "sugar
blues" I'll bet you feel like a different person.
One of the best ways to detoxify your body is through a
sauna and vitamin program. The most scientifically advanced
method of doing this is available to everyone. Even the N.Y.
firefighters are using this method to detoxify from the chemical
exposures they got during 911. See www.nydetox.com For
