Healthy Eating In Parents' Hands
Kids eat what their parents feed them! Here is study from the UK that
shows that the amount of healthy foods consumed by children is directly
related to their parents' choices. Duh!
As simple as this seems, for those of you that have children, or grandchildren,
pretend you are snoop, and very quietly, tip toe into the kitchen, and
look in the cupboards and examine what you find.
Sugared cereal?
Packaged or processed meats?
Corn oil?
White bread?
Soda?
Candy?
Why do children get addicted to these “foods?” Because mommy and daddy
buy them and bring them home and stock the cupboards with them.
Obesity is quickly becoming the number one killer in this country.
It starts with parents buying the wrong foods and feeding them to their
children.
Though it may bring protests, crying, threats to leave you and run away
from home, you can change what you buy and no kid in history has ever
starved to death on organic, whole foods.
The chronic diseases that we used to only see in middle aged people
are now commonly seen in children: diabetes, arthritis, obesity, colitis,
high blood pressure. This is due in large measure to poor dietary habits.
Parents must take responsibility for what they feed their kids. After
all, they are their kids.
