Why People Don’t Trust Drug Makers
"Only 13% of Americans believe that pharmaceutical companies are ‘generally honest and trustworthy,' putting the industry on a par with tobacco, oil, and managed care companies, a recent Harris Poll survey has found. Public confidence in drug companies has plunged harder and faster than for any other industry, the survey indicates" (British Medical Journal).
I hate to flog a dead horse, but some things must be said over and over:
- Drugs do not enhance health. They may be temporary Band-Aids in emergency situations, but they are rarely a long-term solution.
- A good diet, exercise, sunshine, adequate sleep, and having people around you who care about you are the foundations for health. These, along with a spiritually oriented life that involves helping others, are vital.
There are really no substitutes for this. All I would add to this are periodic checkups with a health-oriented practitioner so that an objective look at your physical exam, thermography, and lab work can be done to see how your program in #2 is working.
This plan will serve you well and should keep you living with vitality and enjoyment until your last days.
