Confusion about what to eat for protein
Reader question: I am confused about what to eat for protein. I just read the book The China Study and they “prove” low protein diets are best. I have also read The Paleo Diet and get a completely reverse view. What do I do?
I agree. It is confusing. Each body is different and some do better with animal protein, and others have problems eating animals or their milks.
Here are some important points:
1. Quality proteins are needed by the body in the amount of 1 gram per kilogram of body weight per day to maintain basic protein requirements.
2. Quality protein is animal protein (meat, fish or eggs) or BioBuilde. If animal, it should be organic, free range, hormone and antibiotic free. Dairy is not quality as the usage rate to build proteins is only 16%.
3. Vegetable proteins are poor quality and all vegetarians are protein deficient in my experience. If you are a vegetarian BioBuilde can help you meet your protein requirements. It’s animal free and the highest quality protein.
4. I prefer a vegetarian diet and have since age 14. I make up for the lack of protein with BioBuilde and take 10 tablets twice a day. To me this way one gets the best of both worlds.
5. Most people notice a difference after a very short period of time. Nail and hair growth rates nearly always improve. So does bone mineralization, muscle strength, immune health and detox ability.
