Why Are Amphetamines Given To children?
See the Reuters article Attention Deficit Drugs May Have Long-Term Effects
Rats
aren't people. But I will take any excuse I can get to show the
absolute psychoticness of giving amphetamines to children for
any reason. Why are amphetamines given to children? Easy. M-O-N-E-Y.
If 7% (1.6 million) children are diagosed with ADHD in this
country, this translates to over $2 billion per year in physician
and drug costs. Thats enough to motivate a whole industry to action.

If someone feels like he must give amphetamines, it's better to give
them to rats than to our children. In our practice we have
never seen an ADD/ADHD child that couldn't be helped. Drugs are
never used. The criteria for ADD/ADHD are hogwash as any barely
aware person
can observe. Research has shown that in humans amphetamines like
Ritalin may damage
neurons, decrease brain size on MRI, stunt skeletal growth, prevent
students from being able to apply what they learn, can cause withdrawal
suicide, and lead to increases in antisocial behavior and illicit
drug use as adults. What more would you want as a reason never
to prescribe
them? A few easy steps can end the ADD/ADHD symptoms in most
children: A physician can be contacted from www.acam.org who
will have a non drug nutritional approach. But in the meantime:
1. Omega
3 fish oils (mercury free) from Carlson or Eskimo which can
be ordered from Lifeworks
Wellness Center. Please call 727 466-6789 for information or to
order .
2. Clean Water only as the only beverage - no juice, pop, milk,
etc.
3. No sugar or artificial sweeteners or food colorants of any
kind in the diet.
4. Use only whole grains organic if possible.
5. Check
for allergies by blood test (or
desensitize the child to allergies)
6. A daily childrens multivitamin/mineral (Multigenics
from Metagenics) and can be ordered from Lifeworks
Wellness Center. Please call 727 466-6789 for information or to
order.
7. Help the child with study skills. For assistance,
contact HELP (Hollywood Education and Literacy Project (www.helplearn.org)
for books on learning or free tutoring.
