Do not change direction
Every January I sit down and make a list of the goals for the coming year. Since we are nearing the half-way point I sat down this week for a re-evaluation of how I was doing. Coincidentally I ran across this quote and thought that it was right on the mark and wanted to pass it on to you.
"If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading."
Lao Tzu
When you look at your health habits, will you be happy if you end up where you are heading? An organic whole food diet, normal body weight, daily exercise and sunshine, adequate sleep, work that is purposeful and gives you satisfaction, good friends, time for family and time to help others make up a lifestyle that can bring one to a long life of health and fulfillment. Contrast that to fast food, polluted vegetables and fruits, hormone-antibiotic laden meats, excess sugar and refined carbohydrate diet, caffeine excess, smoking, no exercise, indoors all the time, poor quality sleep, antagonistic relationships and one will end up like most Americans: heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, premature aging, and strokes. So perhaps, take a look and reconsider the wisdom of this ancient master: "If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading."
Lao Tzu
Fare thee well.
